Abstract

Introduction: Contemporary society faces complex challenges that are reflected in the disruption of family relationships and the emergence of various forms of domestic violence.


 Aim: The aim is to look at current challenges in the field of human rights protection through a multidisciplinary approach, to shed light on the role of institutions in the prevention of violence.


 Materials and Methods: The research is based on the analysis of legal documents, statistical reports from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, and relevant literature in the field of criminal law.


 Results: In 2024, 1,070 cases of domestic violence were reported, which represents a decrease of 10.3% compared to the previous year. Perpetrators of violence are male in 92.9% of cases. The most represented group consists of men aged between 41 and 50.


 Conclusion: Domestic violence is a multidimensional problem that requires an integrated approach through strengthening the awareness of the community and improving institutional capacities.
